CloseAs I&C Operations Director, Mark is responsible for an electricity supply division that serves a 32.5TWh portfolio comprising of approximately 13000 energy users from all sectors of UK business.
Mark is a member of an 8 strong leadership team responsible for the strategic direction of EDF Energy’s Customer Operations division with an annual turnover of c£4.4 billion. Prior to his current role, Mark worked as General Manager of British Energy Direct, directing all aspects of the British Energy retail business which specialised in serving the I&C marketplace.
He has also held senior leadership roles in the wholesale and operational divisions of British Energy and worked for some time in Canada as part of the team overseeing a key acquisition made on behalf of British Energy. Before that he spent some years working in various roles within energy generation.
Andrew is Distribution System Operations (DSO) Director, for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN). He is leading the transition to a smart flexible network – facilitating distributed generation and storage, electrification of transport and heat to deliver our low carbon future.
A Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the electricity industry, starting his career as a graduate engineer in Midlands Electricity. He has held several senior roles in UK electricity Distribution Network companies including, E.ON Central Networks, Western Power Distribution and SSEN. He has held roles in Operations, Asset Management and Commercial plus has delivered major business and IT change projects. At Costain, he secured new contracts and developed new teams and partnerships to deliver Transmission and Distribution programmes.
Andrew was Engineering Director in SSEN prior to taking on the DSO role, where he delivered improved asset management processes and systems including a new asset register system, improved regulatory reporting/project reporting, mobile workforce enablement and improved operational safety.
David has over 30 years’ experience in the water industry and joined Wessex Water in 1985. David has held a number of posts over his career, including 20 years in operations. He was appointed a Director of Wessex Water in 2007.
David has recently been appointed Chief Innovation Officer, an appointment which echoes Wessex Water leadership towards a modern and agile water service provider based upon an open-system model enabling Wessex to deliver greater customer and environmental value.
Prior to this, David was Group Director of Strategy & New Markets, responsible for plotting the evolution of the company including the development of the open system model. Initiatives include EnTrade, an exciting on-line trading platform for environmental services that enables businesses to collaborate on investments to improve environmental and societal outcomes. David also led the acquisition of Flipper, an energy switching platform and is a non- executive Director.
David is non- executive Director of Albion Water – a joint venture with Albion Water and Wessex Water an independent water and sewerage services provider for new housing developments, offering alternative solutions to incumbent water companies. He is also a non-executive director of UKWIR.
David is the founder of Business4Life, a leadership development programme involving setting up model businesses whose profits go to WaterAid.
Kirsty has worked in the Energy & Engineering (E&E) industry for over 17 years. She has developed a depth of specialist knowledge through extensive onsite experience for multiple global Energy clients and Oil & Gas operational assets.
Kirsty is currently responsible for OpenText’s Energy & Engineering Consulting Practice across EMEA. Kirsty is also a member of the Global E&E Management team responsible for defining OpenText’s E&E industry solutions and roadmap strategy.
Experienced in defining and executing client strategies for enterprise information management and content services, Kirsty and her team are engaged to consult, educate, advise and deliver proven industry solution strategies across the industry.
Such programs can range from full implementation of content management across an enterprise to rapid deployment of industry solutions focused on addressing specific business challenges such as engineering document control or asset operational efficiency.
Lindley Gooden is a journalist and filmmaker who has worked at the very top levels of British broadcasting and news since the early 1990s.
He has worked in national radio and television as:
- A Senior BBC Journalist
- A presenter on channels as diverse as BBC One, Radio 1, BBC Three and Five and a range of other national and regional radio stations.
- The Consumer Affairs Correspondent on Sky News and Five
Prior to his years in the national media, he was known as the most successful Head of News in local commercial radio – launching new services and dramatically raising audience share and reach, using tools that have since been adopted by radio groups across the UK.
Lindley now works with companies, charities, government and other organisations creating and delivering their own media needs.
